Provide professional and timely support on all external communication processes and outputs. Support identification of new projects in line with the regional and global strategies. Plan, research, and produce digital products for multiplatform web, on UNICEF priority subjects, coordinating with HQ and field communication and programme colleagues, UN and other partner organizations, and freelance producers. Initiate and develop relationships within UNICEF and with outside partners to produce digital products and other communication content on priority themes and initiatives, including the contracting of vendors, producers or companies, as needed, and the preparation of appropriate formats and language versions as required. Initiate and lead ROSA communications initiatives, Country Office support and productions in term of brand, events and graphic design. Regular monitoring and evaluation activities are undertaken according to the work plan to ensure maximum impact and continuous improvement of country communication efforts. Results and reports are prepared and shared on a timely basis.

How can you make a difference?

The Communications Specialist is responsible for maintain and develop UNICEF ROSA's website and provide support to COs for their website development. Some work on videos will also be required. The Communications Specialist works with the Regional Chief of Communications and Consultants to generate appropriate communication ideas and executes a wide-range of online communications campaigns and materials by liaising with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.

1. Maintain and improve the ROSA website, focusing on achievement of the following results:

Maintain the ROSA website with stories, data and multimedia from HQ, other regional centers Support CO website work as needed. Liaise with the rest of the communication team on whether and how material should be presented and distributed. Edit and publish online content in English that is clear, concise, vivid, and conveys key messages to target audiences on the web. Ensure that all content is timely, accurate and compelling. Enhance navigation, structure and content across all UNICEF ROSA online channels, liaising with the rest of the team to ensure consistency across languages; Contribute to the publication of a wide series of data modules and multimedia products including photo galleries, videos and audio materials; and liaise with the rest of the Communications Cluster to determine how specific events should be covered and marketed on the Web. Contribute to implementation of the online strategy focusing on the achievement of the following results: Contribute to the design and implementation of UNICEF’s online strategy, making sure that the organization complies with the strictest standards of design, content usability and security; and ensure the best standards for search engine optimization, usability and online analytics. Provides technical input and support to country offices as required: Provide guidance and technical support to UNICEF's country offices in South Asia, ensuring they comply with UNICEF's regional and international standards and requirements. Encourage all Country Offices to comply with the requirements for online transparency. Assist all country offices to enhance their online presence white staying in tune with the organization's branding and identity; and review and edit content submitted by country offices. Monitoring and evaluation Ensure regular monitoring and evaluation activities are undertaken according to the work plan to ensure maximum impact and continuous improvement of country communication efforts. Ensure results and reports are prepared and shared on a timely basis. Monitor and evaluate the appropriate and timely dissemination of communication materials to target audiences, and participate in the evaluation of their impact. Monitor and evaluate the use and effectiveness of media materials. Maintain a library of press coverage (clippings, coverage Monitor the public perception of UNICEF in the country and recommend appropriate action to maintain a positive image for the organization. Assist in providing feedback to DOC on the use and appropriateness of global communication materials such as publications, images and multimedia products. Ensure good quality data collection, analysis and evaluation and reporting to ensure effective communication strategies, planning and effective and efficient advocacy. Undertake lessons learned review of successful and unsuccessful communication experiences as directed by supervisor.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:Advanced University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field. Work Experience:

Five years practical professional work experience in communication, print and broadcast media, or interactive digital media.

Field work experience; Background/familiarity with Emergency situations.

Language Proficiency [ I ]

Fluency in English and another UN language.

Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is an asset.
