In order to meet its Cluster Lead Agency responsibilities, UNICEF invests human and financial resources to strengthen and improve the coordination function at global level for each of the Clusters / AoR it leads, as well as in each humanitarian context. In line with UNICEF's commitments to the World Humanitarian Summit and Grand Bargain outcomes, this includes a strong focus on adopting 'people-centered approaches' in cluster coordination and performance management processes.
The UNICEF Field Support Coordinator (RRT) is situated in the Office of Emergency Programmes (EMOPS) Division, Global Cluster Coordination Unit (GCCU), in Geneva, Switzerland. The direct supervisor is the Global Cluster/AoR Coordinator, who in turn, reports to the Chief, GCCU. The GCCU forms a key part in UNICEF's implementation of its Cluster Lead Agency accountabilities.
The UNICEF Field Support Coordinator (RRT) serves as a conduit between UNICEF and standby partners, forming part of the CP AoR Field Support team. As with other UNICEF-led clusters, the position will manage in-country and deployable field support based on requests from country offices and will also provide direct support.
How can you make a difference?
We are looking for an experienced Child Protection Specialist with strong co-ordination experience at the field level with flexibility to deploy to the field 50% of the time to support the Global Child Protection AoR in effectively managing and strengthening frameworks and capacity for country-level Cluster Coordination.
