Do you want the opportunity to empower children and their families, helping them build capacity, make informed choices, and engage with available services? You will be working in community settings, to ensure the effective design and delivery of early childhood programs. You will actively engage children to build their skills in all developmental areas and engage parents/carers in the delivery of quality programs.

As an Early Childhood Specialist, you will have the rewarding opportunity where you will collaborate with our existing Early Childhood team to provide evidence-based, family-centred specialised support across the Palmerston Community.

In this part-time max term role (Monday to Thursday 7.6 hours, school term, through to June 2025), you’ll work as a part of our Early Years team in Palmerston to help us create lasting change for children everywhere. The Child Development Specialist plays an important role in delivering on our vision of a better world for children. Whether it’s designing and delivering a community specific play-based learning program or working to build parenting capacity you’ll be contributing to our commitment to children in Australia, the Pacific and around the world.

Providing quality service delivery Actively engaging and promoting the program with the community Engaging with families Collaborating with, and mentoring team members Evaluating and reporting using data to tell the story

Bringing your best every day, means:

Demonstrated skills, knowledge, understanding and experience working with children and families Demonstrated experience delivering programs for children aged 0-5 years Strong understanding of best practice in the fields of early intervention, child protection, domestic and family violence and early childhood Ability to create rapport and build relationships with adults and children from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds Demonstrated experience in using trauma informed practice
