Position Summary:
Creative Associates seeks a Chief of Party (CoP) to support the implementation of the on-going ACS-PROSASUR, Cluster 2 Project which is being implemented in partnership with our client INVEST-HONDURAS. The project's general objective is to sustainably increase income and productivity, nutrition and hygiene conditions of rural poor and extremely poor households located in the South Dry Corridor of Honduras (Departments of Choluteca and El Paraiso). The Project specific objectives are to improve agriculture production and food security, nutritional education, diet diversification, and household hygiene infrastructure. The CoP will perform the overall project management, will lead and supervise the technical work of component specialists, will ensure that the project meets all deliverables and results on a timely basis, and will ensure full contractual compliance of all Project activities and that of its beneficiaries with government and other relevant regulations.
Reporting and Supervision:
The Chief of Party will report directly to the Project Director based in Washington, DC.
Primary Responsibilities:
Liaise with civil society organizations, government agencies, municipalities and in general with all project stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in agriculture, economics, business, agriculture economics or related disciplines;
15 years of experience in rural development or agriculture programs; at least ten (10) years in projects in Honduras or Latin American countries;
Previous experience asCoP, Director, or General Coordinator of agriculture or rural development projects;
Leadership, oral and written communication skills, as well as a track record of achievements and results in similar projects are required; and
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
