Position: Case management specialist

Duty station: Erbil (KRI)

Duration: until December 31st 2022 with 2 months probation. Starting is expecting as soon as possible

Duties and responsibilities:

· Supervise and support the case management managers and build their capacity to assure a good case management supervision and a quality work of the case workers;

· Conduct regular meetings with the case management managers to discuss the most difficult cases, check the referrals flow, monitor the case management achievements and data base;

· Conduct regular field visits to assure that the case management work is conducted in appropriate way, including appropriate measures to guarantee the file protection and confidentiality;

· Mentor and build the capacity of the caseworkers to assure quality BIA/BID report;

· Liaise with caseworkers to receive and review BIA/BID reports in a timely manner. This may include encouraging caseworkers to complete pending cases without compromising quality and safeguards of the process; and share with UNHCR, collect the feedback and follow up with the case management managers.

· In close coordination with the UNHCR BID supervisor, promote and supervise the implementation of the Best Interests Procedure as a child protection tool for all children at risk, guide CM team on completing the BID Reports, collecting additional information, and writing/reviewing the BID reports as a BID reviewer.

· Conduct the final revision of the family link assessment, child protection assessment, age assessment, EPCA and EMCA.

· Keep regular contact with UNHCR focal point about any issue related to the cases.

· Assure that the recommendation and actions points related to BIA and BID cases are applied.

· In case a child needs alternative care arrangement, supervise and guide the work of the case managers to be sure they will provide timely and appropriate response;

· Update PROGRES V4 according with the instruction received by UNHCR

· Attend relevant coordination meetings in coordination with the project manager and the country representative.

· Provide regular reports and updates about the case management service, including gathering monthly data;

· Support the project manager with any other duty related to case management supervision.

Requirements

· Degree in Social Science, Human Rights or related subjects;

· At least one year of experience as technical expert for child protection/case management with INGO;

· At least three years of experience in case management supervision;

· Very good knowledge about child protection and case management;

· Previous experience with UNHCR funded projects and/or BIA/BID process is a strong asset;

· Fluent in English (written and spoken); knowledge in Arabic is highly desirable.
