Capacity Strengthening Manager

FHI 360 is a nonprofit human development organization dedicated to improving lives in lasting ways by advancing integrated, locally driven solutions. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Capacity Strengthening (CS) Manager to support two upcoming five-year orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) projects in Mozambique, which will be led by local organizations that will manage direct USAID funding for the first time. Recruitment is contingent upon successful award of the projects.

The CS Manager will provide leadership for organizational capacity development for the two local prime partners, as well as their local subpartner organizations. S/he will coordinate capacity strengthening interventions with the partners, the FHI 360 team, and other capacity strengthening providers.

Essential Job Functions: Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mentor key personnel in the prime partners in implementing strategies to manage growth across all sectors
  • Coordinate FHI 360 non-technical TA provision (HR, compliance, finance, etc.) and support staff to set up TA plans for each partner
  • Support prime partners in preparing USAID deliverables
  • Manage development and monitoring of CS work plan, timely progress towards stated objectives, and partner progress
  • Develop training and coaching materials and obtain inputs from colleagues and other available resources
  • Deliver and coordinate interactive and practical learning sessions, tapping into internal and external expertise
  • Manage logistical arrangements for trainings and workshops
  • Conduct or coordinate capacity assessments as needed
  • Support prime and subpartners in establishing mechanisms to access outside support (e.g. legal, auditing, IT)
  • Guide Organizational Capacity Development Advisor in organizing organizational development support and working with prime partners and subpartners to develop capacity priorities
