Methodology & Approach
Qualified applicants will be offered an 11-month service contract with fixed professional rates per output for the duration of the service contract. Travel and daily subsistence allowance is dependent on the assignment location and duration.
The contract serves as an on-call/as-needed arrangement between UNICEF and the individual for any required services and outputs during the contract period.
Duration of individual assignments is dependent on the date and location of the activity to be covered, and the deadline for the submission of the required outputs. This will be discussed and agreed upon between UNICEF through the Communication and requiring Units and the the individual contractor prior to the start of every assignment.
Tasks and ResponsibilitiesFamiliarize himself/herself with the UNICEF brand visual guidelines and the UNICEF brand. Prepare own travel arrangements including life and equipment insurance. The consultant will provide and use their own equipment. UNICEF will not be responsible for any damage or loss to equipment during the assignment and in the production of the required outputs. Conceptualize and prepare story ideas, shot lists, design concept, scripts and/or storyboards as relevant. Lead pre-production preparations, including identifying subjects and locations, arranging shooting and/or interview schedules, preparing required equipment, drafting budgets, identifying support staff needs and roles, and securing shooting and/or interview permits and subject consent forms as needed. Lead the review and revision process. In times of disasters/emergencies, be ready to deploy within 48 hours. Others deemed necessary to carry out the assignment.
DeliverablesFilm required live action and record audio tracks. Acquire required stock sound and music clips with proper rights. Generate animated graphics and on-screen text. Edit footage and audio to produce the required output. Render and submit final outputs in required file formats. Prepare video story packages containing split version, broll selects, shot list and audio transcripts for sharing with other UNICEF offices and external broadcast partners.
Deliverables may be submitted electronically via email or file transfer, or via a USB drive sent to the UNICEF Philippines office.
Organization & Management
The Consultant will be managed by the UNICEF Communication Officer in coordination with the specific unit requiring the Consultant services and will be responsible to:Orient the consultant and outline the parameters of the required services. Provide copies of the UNICEF brand book, visual guidelines and editorial style guide. Provide and agree with the consultant on the work schedule, timelines and deadlines. Reimburse within 15 working days from completion of assignment, expenses advanced by the contractor and previously authorized by UNICEF before the start of the assignment. Provide relevant feedback and evaluation of the service provided and outputs submitted. Pay in full the professional fee based on the agreed rate within 30 working days of submission of the required outputs and final evaluation signed by UNICEF and the consultant.
Qualifications and Competencies of Successful ConsultantBachelor’s degree in any field. Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience as a videographer. Fluency in English and Filipino. Fluency in other languages of the Philippines is an asset. Willingness to travel and be assigned in emergency missions around the Philippines
Intellectual Property Rights
The consultant expressly assigns to UNICEF any copyright arising from the outputs produced while executing the service contract. All photos used by UNICEF will bear the consultant’s photo credit. The consultant may not use, reproduce, disseminate, or authorize others to use, reproduce or disseminate any output produced under the service contract without prior consent from UNICEF
