Project Description

The purpose of the USAID Dominican Republic Ocean Plastics Solid Waste Management Activity is to work to strengthen the capacity of municipalities to improve waste management practices through innovative and evidence-based use-reduction, reuse, and recycling strategies and to establish enhanced local and regional markets for recycled plastic, targeting waste at the source.

Position Description

RTI is currently seeking professionals with senior- and mid-level expertise in water and sanitation, solid waste management, municipal governance, and other technical areas in the Dominican Republic.

Position is contingent upon award and funding.

RTI is seeking experts in the following areas:

  • Water and Sanitation
  • Solid Waste Management
  • Municipal Governance
  • Climate Change
  • Ocean Habitat/Ecosystem Restoration
  • Gender, Youth, and Indigenous inclusion
  • Communications
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning, and Adapting (MERLA)

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years of experience focused on technical area of expertise.
    • Native fluency or full professional proficiency in Spanish required; English fluency preferred.
    • Work experience in the Dominican Republic required.
