The position reports to the Finance Manager and is embedded in the Budget and Analysis Unit (BAU) which is part of the Finance andOperations Section and the PFP Division. The unit supports the division in four main areas:1. Providing real-time data to management and fundraisers to make strategic decisions and enable funds generation for UNICEF.2. Identifying, designing, developing and implementing business intelligence to capture, consolidate, organize, analyze and reportfinancial and non-financial information for PFP.3. Develop and manage the divisional budget.4. Administration, management and analysis of PFP Investment Funds.

Purpose of the Job:

Assist in assuring the overall goals of the unit are met through the consolidation and dissemination of information regarding the budgeting process, financial analysis and investment funds via assisting in the development, implementation and maintenance of PFP’s business Intelligence capacity, financial analysis and both internal and external financial communication.

How can you make a difference?

Business Intelligence Optimize business process through fine tuning existing process by developing specifications and change requests, enhancing reporting for internal and external customers, and developing training for application rollouts (manuals, guidelines, videos) Ensure reliable and accurate data on the PFP Dashboard through modelling and updating dashboard reports/cubes, Extract, Transform,Load (ETL) for dataflow, integration of new data into data warehouse, data testing Financial Analysis Develop models/reports to analyze accuracy of forecasting versus reporting Assist in developing annual revenue and expenditure forecasts Analyze revenue and expenditure global trends from various reporting sources, including the Revenue and Expenditure Report (RER). Ensure data consistency between budget, forecasts, latest estimates and actuals Conduct profitability analysis and highlight growth drivers Assist in consolidation issues related to budgeting (revenue and expense consolidation, post consolidation and reconciliation)Planning/communication Assist the Finance Manager in preparing communication and presentations Assist the Finance Manager with unit planning

Impact of Results:

Reliable and relevant data is provided transparently to senior colleagues in UNICEF as well as to donors and the UNICEF ExecutiveBoard. Business processes are optimized to reduce transaction time and free up resources. The impact of BAU and finance projects is communicated in a clear and compelling manner. The overall goals of the Budget & Analysis Unit are met through effective assistance and planning.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:

A university degree is required in IT, finance, accounting or related area.

Experience:

A minimum of two years of professional work experience in business analysis and/or business intelligence is required. Training in ETL processes, data modelling, performance management and business intelligence tools is required. Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft SharePoint would be an asset.

Language Requirements:

Fluency in English is required. Fluency in French and/or another UN official language would be an asset.
