ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Internews seeks an Innovation Program Lead for a potential USAID-funded media development project in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) focused on supporting media partners in BiH to enhance the quality of their content production, facilitate adherence to journalistic standards, expand their reach and appeal to target audiences, improve their business practices to help them operate as viable enterprises, and increase their security from politically motivated lawsuits and cyberattacks. They will lead activities related to experimentation and learning around innovative initiatives under the project, including an assessment of the BiH media market to identify need for innovation, coordination of a committee overseeing the program's learning agenda, management of professional development programs for bloggers and individual content producers, and the development of alternative monetization tools to support the sustainability of independent media partners, among other activities with experimental components. The position will be based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, or remotely in the Balkan region.

LOGISTICS
This position may be based in our Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina office, or remotely from another location in the Balkan region. Remote applicants must have work authorization in their location that does not require sponsorship from Internews.

Learning and innovation enthusiast with four or more years of project management experience, preferably across several sectors: media, civil society, technology, business development leadership experience, youth, human rights, rights of marginalized groups.
Proven experience with organizing and facilitating events that aim to foster creativity and the emergence of new products/services (e.g., creative labs, hackathons, boot camps).
A strong reputation for developing collaborative working relationships with media, CSOs, activist groups, representatives of business, IT, and creative industries.
Experience working with media outlets, particularly digital or multi platform outlets, strongly preferred.
Good understanding of the local and national media, CSOs, and technology sector.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Entrepreneurial and inquisitive mindset.
English fluency required; Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian proficiency highly preferred.
