General Description of the Programme:

GOAL an International Humanitarian Organisation has had a presence in Turkey since 2013 and has been contributing to the migrant response since 2016 with a focus on responding to needs in health service delivery, social safety nets and the protection of vulnerable and marginalised migrants in southern Turkey.

GOAL has been working in Syria since 2013, responding to the acute needs of conflict-affected communities. GOAL is working in Idleb Governate, both through direct implementation and through partners, delivering food, non-food programming to highly vulnerable populations, and provision of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) through support to Water units, as well as emergency support to recently displaced households.

Job purpose:

As a part of the Selection Team of the Programme Quality Department, Selection Team Members support selection and 100% verification of potential and existing beneficiaries to ensure that food, non-food item, cash and voucher assistance reaches most vulnerable families. Key functions of this position include:

  1. Verification (checking) of beneficiary lists proposed by Local Councils and coming from GOAL Syria’s CCRM;
  2. Verification (checking) of beneficiary lists proposed by Local Councils;
  3. Carrying out home visits and collecting information through observation and interviews to verify household compliance with the beneficiary selection criteria;
  4. Communicating with Local Councils and Relief Committees and informing them about GOAL programme and GOAL beneficiary selection criteria; and
  5. Collecting the notes and comments from the field.

Duties, objectives and competencies

The post holder will be responsible for the following duties in relation to distributions:

In addition to the above, the Verification Team Member is required to abide by and uphold the Core Humanitarian Standards in the execution of his/her duties.

Requirements (essential)

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university. In lieu of a completed degree, an undergraduate with 2+ years’ experience would be considered.
  • At least 2 years’ work experience, in addition to previous NGO experience in humanitarian work Data Management, Beneficiary Selection, Verification desirable.
  • Attended trainings in M&E , Data collection, Need assessment.
  • Able to work under pressure with limited management support.

Requirements (desired)

  • 2 years of experience in data management, beneficiary selection or need assessment.
  • M&E, Need Assessment, Data management previous experience will be desirable.
  • Good computer skills, Microsoft applications (Word, Exile…etc.
  • Flexible and attentive to details.
  • Kurdish Language Speakers
