Organizational background

Within the Programme Unit, the Livelihood and Resilience Programme Assistant (Livelihoods – Information Management) is based in the Lebanon Country Office and the incumbent will report to a Programme Policy Officer.

Job Purpose

To support effective supervision and implementation of the various Livelihoods and resilience projects undertaken by WFP Lebanon on the database and support services aspects, including data reporting, document control and analysis, and budgeting support.

Key Responsibilities (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):

Under the supervision of Programme Policy Officer (Livelihoods & Resilience), the incumbent will perform the following tasks:

  • Provide database management for livelihoods projects and enrolled participants
  • Provide support to the Livelihoods & Resilience unit on financial transactions, invoicing and fund management using internal software and tools.
  • Provide and compile inputs for reports, donor proposals and donor updates.
  • Provide support on routine business methods and practices to colleagues to ensure services are timely delivered and to the required standards,
  • Provide support in documentation and information management for the Livelihoods unit
  • Provide routine analysis and reporting on trends and flow of information and figures
  • Coordinate with M&E unit on sampling based on lists of villages and activities, data collection period, consolidation of project related information, participants and payment lists, support the review of the process and output monitoring tools to match the needs of the Livelihoods unit.
  • Liaise with M&E and IT units on communication and common messaging to participants in livelihoods activities. Update Q&As for hotline as needed
  • Provide support and coordinate with Field Office and Database managers on needed services and mechanisms
  • Support the Livelihoods unit in administrative tasks such as archiving and documentation using online and office tools.
  • Perform other related duties, as required.

    Standard Minimum Qualifications:

    Education: Completion of secondary school education. University degree in Management of Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Development Studies, or other field relevant to international development assistance is a plus.

    Experience: At least four (4) years of professional experience preferably in project reporting and coordination, information system management, design and development. Demonstrated experience in data analysis and cleaning.

    Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in Arabic and English. Fluency in French is an advantage.

    Desired Experiences for entry into the role:

    • Experience in database management and support services (finance, budgeting…)
    • Ability to maintain accurate and precise records, well organized,
    • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
    • Monitoring and Evaluation, project cycle and information management.
    • Able to interpret and analyse a variety of data and resolve discrepancies independently,
    • Very good experience utilizing data software and common MS Office functions including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point,
