Associate Director EpiC Programs– Port Moresby


The Associate Director will lead and direct the development and implementation process for FHI 360 involving cross-functional teams focused on delivery of new EpiC technical assistance programs while supporting ongoing EpiC Vaccine projects; Plans, monitors, directs and organizers project personnel, activities, and schedules. Work closely with EpiC Program Director and Country Representative to ensure adherence to fundamental project management principles throughout the entirety of the project life cycle, initiation through delivery through to close-out. Central to the role is coordinating key program activities on the Global Fund TA support project and Liquid Oxygen infrastructure support projects, while being the focal point for contracting, development, and performance management of project sub-awardee. Important responsibility will be to keep all key stakeholders informed and interested in the project work to ensure successful completion of the stipulated deliverables.


Accountabilities:


Plan, direct, and coordinate activities for EpiC GF TA and LOX projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters, while providing support to EpiC Vaccine TA project.
• Review project proposals and plans to determine scheduling and procedures
• Identify suitable sub-awardees and manage partners agreements
• Establish work plans, project teams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to meet project goals and ensure compliance with policies.
• Manage the performance and provide development opportunities to managers and staff to achieve project goals.
• Provide guidance and training to managers and staff to achieve project goals.
• Participate in the strategic development of methods and techniques with executive management.
• Establish, serve, and maintains partnerships with internal and external stakeholders on project matters.
• Represent EpiC project at various partners/ coordination meetings

Requirements:


• Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent required in Public Health, Health Administration, Management, Social Work, or Business Administration with a focus on public health, social sciences, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Certification in project management and or relevant education and experience
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience with progressively increasing responsibility designing, implementing, managing and leading large development programs involving multiple partners, stakeholders, and geographic target areas in a developing country; preference for experience managing USAID-funded programs.
• Demonstrated experience in multi-sector project management and implementation; strategic planning, staff development and capacity building experience; talent management, performance
management.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex projects that are strategic in nature and national/international in scope
• Competency in people management; Project management; Finance management Development of compelling plans; Monitors process, progress, and results; Effectively recognizing and optimizing economies of scale.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to plan, organize, and manage resources for successful completion of projects.
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, and policies associated with international development and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs).
• Excellent interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills in English. Conversational Tok-Pisin desirable
• Computer literate with competency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Position is only open for Papua New Guineans
