Under the general supervision of the Human Rights Adviser - Capacity Building Co-ordinator, the Assistant Programme

Officer will be responsible for:

  1. Supporting the project with drafting agendas, preparation of events' materials and selection of participants from state

authorities, civil society and international organizations, liaising with events' participants, assuring their input and

ensuring the smooth running of the events as necessary;

  1. Contributing to the organization of needs assessment visits in preparation to capacity building activities as required by

the project implementation plan;

  1. Keeping up to date with political and other developments as related to project activities, and regularly briefing his/her

supervisor on issues of importance to the project implementation;

  1. Conducting desk-research and regularly monitoring media and other sources updating information regarding the

Human Rights Defenders' situation in the OSCE region as necessary for the implementation of project activities;

  1. Supporting the preparation and adaptation of relevant training curricula and materials;

  2. Supporting the portfolio in drafting events' reports, including recommendations made and follow up;**Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe**

  1. Preparing, distributing, collecting and analyzing training evaluation forms; draftsing summary reports on training

events, including recommendations made and follow up;

  1. Contributing to Implementing Partner Agreement (IPA) selection procedures, regularly monitors IPA projects'

implementation, documenting progress and lessons learned, collecting and analysing reports and otherwise liaising with

implementing partners on issues related to their projects' implementation;

  1. Assisting in implementing, reporting and evaluating project activities planned for the period of the assignment;

  2. Establishing and maintaining contacts with key stakeholders in OSCE participating States relevant for the

implementation of project activities as well as with key international, inter-governmental and non-governmental

organizations;

  1. Co-operating in delivery of training modules as required during capacity building events;

  2. Assisting ODIHR in the development of media tools to promote the work of Human Rights Defenders among the

public;

  1. Preparing briefing notes, background papers, talking points and other documents related to the project, as requested;

  2. Managing project-related information;

  3. Performing other duties and tasks related to the project, as required.
