Result of Service

The consultant will be responsible for assisting the Architect Design Engineers, Design Unit, Design section HQ Gaza to develop and document designs for a wide variety of high-performance Agency's projects, in all stages of Design, from Site Planning, Concept Design, and into Construction documents to maintain project schedule and design quality through all phases according to UNRWA’s policy and procedures. He/she will be a member of one of integrated design teams to create architecture that elevates the refugees experience through design, Work Location

Expected duration

• The duration of the consultancy is 6-11 months with the expected start date of beginning of November 2022;
• Remuneration for this consultancy is based on grade 12 with monthly fees start from $1,259.40 depending on the qualifications and
experience of the candidate.
• The incumbent will be based in Gaza. Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists in and carries out preliminary and detailed architectural design drawings for all Agency's projects in accordance with Agency's needs, policies, design criteria, technical instructions and standards, local and international codes of practice
• Participates and attends in development, pre-design, pre-construction, meetings for each project as required
• Provide design input, feedback, and support from master planning and concept design through construction documents
• Develops 3D modeling and assist in preparing projects presentation
• Develops architectural details
• Assists in and prepares cost estimates and tender documentation and reviews tenders.
• Ensures project information is incorporated into project documents clearly and appropriately
• Communicate to Lead Design Engineer on progress of assignments according to the established project schedule and workplan
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned. Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualifications: • A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Architecture Engineering.
Experience: • Minimum of two years’ experience in design of architectural projects, but not exceeding 10 years.
• Proficiency with design using AutoCAD software.
• Proficiency in the use of computer modeling software such as Sketch-Up, (rendering skills a plus!) Proficiency with Adobe products such as photoshop Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. excellent rendering, visualization, and graphic skills
• Good ability in Adobe Suite and presentation graphics
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent research and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of building codes and standards
• Strong commitment to sustainable design.
• Be able to stay focused on the task and fulfill deadlines
