Do you have the ambition to work in a unique role that helps you gain knowledge of both business and IT in an organisation that is Financing the Future? Would you be defined as a true team player, who enjoys working on multiple projects across the organisation?

The Financial Planning Unit, which is part of the Treasury & Finance department headed by the CFO, is responsible for developing and maintaining NIB's framework for financial planning. At NIB the financial planning activity covers business and financial planning, financial modelling, business performance measurement and forecasting, as well as management reporting and analysis. The Financial Planning Unit is, together with other functions in the Bank, part of an exciting transformational journey to become a data driven Bank. As a central user of data and analytical tools, the Financial Planning Unit will also have a leading responsibility for ensuring that the Bank’s business intelligence environment provides for best business value.

Your role as an Analyst/Associate Analyst will be to support this journey from a data governance and data quality angle. In addition, the role includes development initiatives in areas such as capital planning and forecasting.

Our Unit can offer you the opportunity to collaborate in an ambitious and supportive team that values initiative, learning and sharing. You will also get to proactively team-up with other specialists across the Bank in our open and inclusive working environment. Further, we offer you the chance to enhance and broaden your professional skills in banking with modern business intelligence and data platforms.

Your journey in NIB will consist of:

Taking (or growing into) a leading role in co-ordination of data governance related topics between different business units and IT. Understanding end-to-end data flows from source systems to self-service analytical areas and reports. Contributing to the data quality framework, ensuring that the process is understood and followed throughout business units, and that issues are addressed in a timely manner. Supporting data quality analysis and remediation for “strategic” data. Translating business requirements to Enterprise Data Warehouse tasks. Participating in the development and delivery of financial modelling, analysis and other materials for the Bank’s management and other stakeholders. Assisting in the forecasting and planning around profitability, capital, liquidity and the balance sheet. Taking part in other activities within the Unit to stay connected to the overall business activities and business development in NIB.

We are looking for someone who:

Is eager to understand both the business and technical side of solutions, and the underlying data behind them. Has the ability to work within a team, develop relationships and to collaborate in a cross-functional role. Has an analytical mindset and experience in working with data science, analysis, simulation and forecasting. Competences in business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI) and SQL; other scientific computing languages are considered a benefit. Is fluent in spoken and written English. Is excellent in communication and interpersonal skills, and likes working in a multi-cultural environment. Has a higher education qualification, such as MSc in finance, computer science or statistics (or other relevant education). Has a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in controlling, reporting, business/data analysis and/or business planning functions, preferably from the financial industry. Has interest in capital, liquidity and balance sheet planning and forecasting for financial institutions, hereunder profitability and risk-return considerations. Treats data as an asset and has drive and passion for data quality and governance. Is energetic, has a proactive personality and contributes to the positive atmosphere in the team and among colleagues. Has a high level of integrity.

We offer you:

A unique opportunity to gain insight on how a Bank and its components work. A place in an International Financial Institution with a clear purpose to do good. A platform to learn and master the modern financial planning discipline. A role in an ambitious and supportive team that values initiative, learning, sharing and the ability to proactively collaborate with colleagues across the Bank. A chance to learn and master modern business intelligence and reporting tools and, through that, truly influence how NIB will be operating in the future.
