We are looking for an Analyst/Associate Analyst

to join our Middle Office Unit

The Middle Office Unit, which is part of the Treasury & Finance department, acts as the controlling and reporting function for NIB’s Treasury operations. Those are linked to the funding programs with outstanding bond issuances of EUR 32bn, liquidity buffer holdings of EUR 12bn plus the risk management of the Bank’s interest rate, credit spread and FX risks. 

The Unit is a team of 6 professionals, and it works closely with other Treasury & Finance professionals and other Units in the Bank. The responsibilities include trade valuations and related valuation models, procuring and validating market data, internal Treasury reporting and analysis, managing the hedge accounting framework and developing IT-systems used in the Treasury operations. In addition, the Unit also cover portfolio valuation reconciliation, benchmarking and participating in Treasury & Finance related projects. 

The position offers excellent insight into the Bank’s business activities as well as a unique opportunity to learn more about Treasury operations. The Analyst/Associate Analyst will be reporting to the Head of Middle Office Unit that is reporting to the CFO. 

Your journey in NIB will consist of: 

Pricing and valuation control of the Treasury transactions. Reconciling trade valuations against counterparties. Managing collateral valuations and dispute management. Analysing and explaining P/L developments in relation to developments in financial markets and risk exposures. Managing and developing daily reporting of P/L and valuations using BI tools and the bank’s Enterprise Data Warehouse. Preparing reports and presentations for executive management. Controlling and validating the quality of market data. Taking part in projects and other activities within the Unit. 

We are looking for someone who: 

Has an interest in and knowledge of financial markets and instruments. Is an outgoing person with good communication and interpersonal skills and likes working in a multi-cultural environment. Has an analytical mindset and likes to explain things with simple and clear terminology. Is familiar with business intelligence tools, e.g. Power BI, and SQL. Other scientific computing languages are considered a benefit. Is fluent in spoken and written English. Has a Bachelor or Master’s degree in finance, economics, computer science or statistics (or other relevant education). Might also have an understanding of IFRS accounting principles (considered a benefit). Have relevant work experience with financial instruments, controlling, reporting or business/data analysis, preferably from a bank.
