EnDev aims to facilitate access to modern energy services for poor households, social infrastructure and small businesses in a sustainable way.
With co-finance from the EU, EnDev in Malawi is going to implement the Make Energy Work! component. It aims at market development for needs-based, climate-friendly technologies and services for productive use of energy (PUE). On the supply side this will be achieved through result-based-financing (RBF) and business development support (BDS) for PUE companies and on the demand side through outreach activities, capacity development and market-linkages for PUE customers/users. These activities will be framed through cooperation with Malawian universities, private sector associations and the government to create an enabling environment for the PUE sector. Through these interventions the project aims to help lifting the PUE market from the pre-commercial to the pioneering phase.
