Job description

GIZ is implementing the project Improving Social Protection and Health (ISPH). It is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and is co-financed by the Australian Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade. The project provides technical support to the Cambodian National Social Protection Council (NSPC) to implement an ambitious reform agenda as outlined in the National Social Protection Policy Framework 2016 - 2025. Drawing on the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, the NSPC intends to improve the overall shock responsiveness of the national social protection system. ISPH supports this goal by providing policy analysis and formulation type technical assistance and implementing various capacity development measures. This field of work is closely linked to others within ISPH, namely supporting the evolution of identification of poor households programme towards a social registry and improving inclusion of additional vulnerable groups to the national social protection system.

Your tasks

Advise on substantive and conceptual issues in the adaptive social protection subject Planning and technical coordination of project activities Technical coordination with relevant counterparts and development partners Management of information and knowledge as well as monitoring of progress Develop writeups, presentations and publications where needed Implementation of cross-cutting tasks such as event and knowledge management

Your profile

Master’s degree in Social Protection or comparable Several years of relevant professional experience in social protection reforms, ideally in Shock Responsive Social Protection Many years of development cooperation project implementation experience in the Southeast Asian region Strong conceptual and analytical skills with working knowledge in statistics Proven competency in consulting, especially with a successful track record in working with government officials Business fluent in English, fluency in German is an asset
