Despite significant improvements, Ivory Coast, Liberia and Sierra Leone have some of the highest child and maternal mortality rates in the world. The PROSSAN 2 - West Africa project aims at strengthening the health system of these three countries, and put women and youth at the heart of health decision-making. This three-year project is the continuity of a 1st phase that ended in May 2022, and is implemented in three countries by ACF and its partners (international and national) in the urban and peri-urban of Abidjan, Monrovia and Freetown.
The expected outcomes of the PROSSAN 2 are:
- Health services and health workers deliver activities and services that meet the Ministry of Health standards regarding the minimum/essential health package
- Target populations, including women and youth, improve their health behaviors
- The community-based health management bodies, civil society and young people are actively involved in the health sector
Another focus for this second phase is to strengthen the quality monitoring of the activities to build evidence to measure the effect of the project and feed the advocacy activities.
